Lawn aeration

Hard soil grows
soft results.

Foot traffic, kids, dogs and Sydney clay all compact your soil until roots cannot push through and water runs straight off. Aeration opens it back up.

What it is

Opening up compacted soil.

Core aeration pulls thousands of small plugs from the lawn, creating channels that let water, air and nutrients move down into the root zone instead of sitting on the surface.

The result is a lawn that drains after rain instead of puddling, grows deeper roots, and holds its colour through dry spells because the roots can actually reach moisture.

How we can help

  • Machine core aeration, not spike shoes
  • Water and fertiliser reach the root zone again
  • Deeper roots and better drought tolerance
  • Cores collected or left to break down, your choice
  • Autumn and spring timing for best results
Good to know: aeration pairs perfectly with dethatching and feeding. Ask about a full lawn renovation package.

FAQ

Aeration questions, answered.

When is the best time to aerate?

Autumn and spring, when the lawn is actively growing and can fill the core holes quickly. We avoid the height of summer and the depths of winter.

How long do the results last?

A yearly aeration keeps most lawns open and draining well. High-traffic lawns or heavy clay soils benefit from twice a year.

What should I do after aeration?

Water deeply and stay off the lawn for a few days. If we’ve applied fertiliser, the core holes carry it straight to the roots, so you’ll see the response fast.
