How often should hedges be trimmed?
Formal hedges hold their shape best on a 6 to 8 week cycle through the growing season. Informal screens can usually go 3 to 4 months between cuts.
My hedge is completely overgrown. Can it be saved?
Usually, yes. We do a staged hard-cut over two visits so the plant can recover between cuts, instead of shocking it all at once.
When is the wrong time to prune?
It depends on the species. Spring flowerers set their buds early, so a winter cut costs you the blooms. We check what you’ve got before anything gets cut.
